Belethor’s General Store

Questions people actually ask

How long does an order take?

Usually a few minutes, at any hour. Trade offers are sent automatically as soon as an order is ready, and payouts go out on their own once your items arrive — nothing waits for someone to wake up.

Some orders still stop for a person: a payment still short when the window closes, an unusually large order, or items we do not currently hold in stock. We get in touch when that happens. Either way your order page updates itself, so you do not need to watch it.

What is the settlement fee? My wallet already charges me gas.

They are two different transactions. The gas your wallet charges is for your payment coming in, goes to the network, and never reaches us — nobody can waive it. The settlement fee covers the separate transfer we make afterwards to move your payment into storage. It is measured from the chain each time rather than being a flat markup, which is why it differs between networks, and on some networks we absorb it entirely and show the fee as free.

Why did less arrive than my order needed?

Exchanges take their withdrawal fee out of the amount you send, so asking for exactly the quoted figure means slightly less lands here. Add the exchange fee on top.

If it does come up short, your order page shows exactly how much is still missing. Send that amount to the same address and the order settles on its own — there is nothing to ask us for and no need to start again.

If the window closes before the rest arrives, nothing is lost. We hold it and sort it out with you rather than cancelling.

What happens if I overpay?

Small overpayments inside our tolerance are accepted automatically. Anything larger is held for us to look at, and we will either credit it or send the difference back.

Can I send on a different network?

No. Each order is for one specific asset on one specific network, shown on the payment screen. Funds sent on another chain cannot be recovered.

Why does Steam want to hold my trade?

Steam holds trades for up to 15 days unless you have had the Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator enabled for at least 7 days. We cannot pay out on a held trade until it clears, so turn it on well before you plan to sell.

Do you hold a balance for me?

Only if you choose it. Selling pays out to the wallet address you give us by default, but you can take Septim instead — shop credit that sits on your account and is spendable on anything we sell. Septim cannot be withdrawn or converted back to crypto, so pick it only if you intend to spend it here. There is still nothing to top up.

My order expired but I already paid. Now what?

We keep watching expired orders for a week. If your payment lands we will pick it up, flag it, and get in touch about honouring the original price.

How do I get in touch?

Steam or Discord, whichever you already have open. Have your order code to hand and we can pull the order up straight away — without it we are searching by guesswork. There is one person on the other end, so you are not filing a ticket.
